Matthew McConaughey to replace Owen

Washington (ANI): Actor Matthew McConaughey is stepping into Owen Wilson"s role in Owen Wilson"s role comedy 'Tropic Thunder". Wilson dropped out of the DreamWorks comedy after an attempted suicide bid late last month. Conaughey now joins Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Bill Hader and Steve Coogan, reports Variety.

The plot of the movie revolves around a group of actors who gather on a remote island to shoot a big-budget Vietnam war movie, and are forced to become the soldiers they are playing. McConaughey was last seen on the big screen in the 2006 romantic comedy 'Failure to Launch". He has just finished the Andy Tennant-directed film "Fool's Gold" and the S.R. Bindler-directed film "Surfer Dude". He is said to have taken a week out of his already full schedule to shoot the role in 'Tropic Thunder", which is lensing in Hawaii.
