Hollywood star Nicholas Cage has purchased a castle in Bath for five million pounds. Made in the shape of the ace of clubs, this is the third castle that the Oscar-winning actor owns.
Cage has got 14 properties around the world that are altogether worth around 33 million pounds, including a Bavarian schloss purchased last year for 1.2 million pounds.
Midford Castle is three miles south of Bath where the actor already has a townhouse in the Circus, reports British newspaper Daily Mail. The Grade I listed building, constructed in 1775 by Henry Disney Rosebuck. It is built on a plinth, has battlements, an arched gateway, gatehouse and towers as well as three reception rooms and seven bedrooms.
Michael and Isabel Briggs got the restoration and modernisation of the castle done after the couple purchased it in 1961 for just 15,000 pounds. The property is set in 35 acres of parkland and 11 acres of woodland, and also has two cottages, an orangery, priory and the ruins of a chapel.
