Hilton doing 'Very Well' in jail

By Super Admin

Socialite Paris Hilton is coping "very well under the circumstances" after spending her first day in jail for violating her probation following a 2006 drunk-driving arrest.

The 26-year-old began her 23-day jail term on Sunday night at 10:30 p.m.

Her lawyer, Richard Hutton, yesterday told reporters gathered outside the Los Angeles jail where Hilton is incarcerated that his client is being held in a 100-square-foot "administrative segregation" cell because she is a celebrity.

Hilton is allowed outside of her cell for one hour each day "to be in the module, take a shower and talk on the phone." Hutton also confirmed it was Hilton's decision to enter jail under the cover of darkness, in an attempt to avoid a "media circus."
