Washington (ANI): English actor Andy Serkis is joining hands with director Peter Jackson once again, this time in DreamWorks' "Tintin," the movie trilogy partnership from Jackson and Steven Spielberg. Although DreamWorks has not yet confirmed, it is believed that Serkis will be playing the role of Capt. Haddock, a temperamental sea captain, in British scribe Steven Moffat's adaptation of the European comic strip created by Herge.

In the comics, Tintin is a young Belgian reporter and world traveller who is aided in his adventures by his faithful dog Snowy and later accompanied by characters like Haddock, Professor Cuthbert Calculus and bumbling detectives Thomson and Thompson. The books, hugely popular in Europe, have been translated into 50 languages with more than 200 million sold.

Jackson and Spielberg are each directing an instalment, with the director of the third movie yet to be announced, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Kathleen Kennedy is producing the three feature films, which will be made using performance-capture technology and produced in digital 3-D. Serkis and Jackson have previously worked together in "Lord of the Rings" films and the director"s remake of "King Kong."
