Rumours that a reconciliation might be on the cards for Reese Witherspoon and estranged hubby Ryan Phillippe have been making the rounds after the two were spotted spending some quality time together.

Witherspoon and Phillippe married in 1999, two years after they met at her 21st birthday party. However, two kids and seven years later, in October 2006, they announced that they would be separating. The separation came weeks after reports that he had grown very close to Australian actress Abbie Cornish. Witherspoon then filed for divorce in November the same year.

Now, the two have been spotted shopping, jogging and lunching together in Los Angeles, igniting rumours that they might be getting back together. "They met for lunch this week at the Votre Sante health-food restaurant, a regular Brentwood haunt for Reese on San Vicente," the New York Post quoted a source, as saying.

"And they're going on runs together around the Brentwood Country Club. Both are regular, dedicated runners. Running is a very healing, meditative thing, so maybe it will work its magic on them," the source added.

A friend of Witherspoon has in the meanwhile said, "Reese and Ryan are trying to work it out. They are still close." However, a rep for Phillippe insists that the rumours are untrue. "It's not true," the rep said.
