Diaz mourns her father

Washington (ANI): Actress Cameron Diaz has issued a statement paying tribute to her late father after his sudden death. Diaz lost her 59-year-old dad suddenly to pneumonia on Tuesday. In a statement read out by her rep, the actress said that for the family, Emilio Diaz would always live on in their hearts.

"My dad was loved by so many people, and his humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts," People quoted her rep Brad Cafarelli, as reading from the statement. She also thanked people who have extended their condolences to the grieving family. "My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family," she added.

Mr Diaz was a second generation Cuban-American who worked an oil company. His daughter got the news while working on her new movie 'My Sister's Keeper'. Production on the movie has now been halted.
