Cheryl, Zac named 'coolest celebrities of 2008'

London (ANI): X Factor judge Cheryl Cole and High School Musical actor Zac Efron have been named the 'coolest celebrities among teenagers'. In a poll involving more than 20,000 teenagers, The Girls Aloud star received four times as many votes as any other female celebrity.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson, 18, came second followed by television presenter Alexa Chung, 25. Singer Lily Allen, 23, landed at the fourth position with troubled actress Lindsay Lohan, 22 at the fifth. Heiress Paris Hilton came sixth and model Agyness Deyn, 22, was seventh.

Hollywood heartthrob Zac Efron walked away with the coolest male celeb title in the poll conducted by social networking website Bebo. Joe Jonas, 19 of US boy band the Jonas Brothers came second followed by 27-year-old pop hunk Justin Timberlake at third spot.

Musician Alex Turner and Arsenal and England ace Theo, 19 landed at the joint fourth, pushing Former England football captain David Beckham, 33, at sixth spot. Daniel Radcliffe, 19, trailed to the seventh position. Singer Katy Perry, 24, was deemed to be the coolest music solo artist, while Batman film The Dark Knight was the teenagers' favourite film of the year ahead of musical Mamma Mia! and animated comedy Kung Fu Panda.

"There are quite a few surprises about whom teenagers rate and don't rate on the celebrity barometer, the Telegraph quoted Bebo's Sarah Gavin as saying. "And the level of voting reflects how important entertainment and popular culture is to today's generation," she added.
