Duchovny, his wife kept split under wraps for children

Washington (ANI): Hollywood actor David Duchovny, who has just come out of rehab after being treated for sex addiction, has said that he and his wife Tea Leoni have been separated for several months. The celebrity couple was trying to keep the split under wraps for their children.

"In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months," People magazine quoted a statement by Duchovny, as stating.

"The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children," the statement added.

The Evolution actor has two kids with Leoni Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6. The actor voluntarily entered rehab last summer 'for the treatment of sex addiction,' he said in a statement issued in August. The separation statement was released by reps Annett Wolf and Evelyn Karamanos.
