The Godfather becomes 'Best Films Of All Time'

London (ANI): Francis Ford Coppola's 'The Godfather' has been named 'The Best Film Of All Time' by directors. The film, starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, beat the likes of 'Gone with the Wind' and 'Taxi Driver' in the poll for Empire magazine, reports the Telegraph.

Quentin Tarantino, Sam Mendes, Mike Leigh, Guillermo Del Toro, Cameron Crowe and Pedro Almodovar were among the directors who took part in the survey. Raging Bull came second, one of two Martin Scorsese films starring Robert De Niro in the top ten.

Gene Kelly's 'Singin' In The Rain' landed the third spot while Stanley Kubrick's 'Dr Strangelove' stood fourth in the poll of 31 filmmakers. Rounding off the top five was 'Taxi Driver', the 1976 movie also featuring Jodie Foster.
