Heather Locklear checks into medical facility

New York (ANI): Actress Heather Locklear has checked into an Arizona medical facility for psychological treatment, her spokeswoman said. Representative for Locklear, best known for her roles in the hit US television soap opera 'Melrose Place' and sitcom 'Spin City,' has revealed that the 46-year-old actress is being treated for anxiety and depression at an Arizona facility.

"She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment," the New York Daily News quoted Locklear's rep, as saying. "This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released," she added. In March, a man claiming to be Locklear's doctor called 911 and asked for assistance.

"I have a patient and I have a feeling she's suicidal. I would want someone to go [check on her]," he said. At that time, Locklear's publicist downplayed the incident, adding that the actress was 'fine' and 'never requested medical assistance.'
