A private funeral ceremony for Hudson family

A private funeral ceremony for singer-cum-actress Jennifer Hudson's slain mother Darnell Hudson Donerson, 57, brother Jason Hudson, 29, and nephew Julian King, 7, was held on Monday at Apostolic Church of God. The Hudson family was buried at Oak Woods Cemetery on the South Side. The funeral ceremony of Hudson family was held after ten days after their murder.

On Monday, Oscar winning singer Jennifer approached mother, brother and nephew's coffins and spent a few moments with each. American Idol Fantasia Barrino sang a gospel classic 'Your Grace and Mercy', which took the moment to the emotional peak. Mourners holding 'Hudson Family Funeral' ticket had come in large number. Later, the bodies were carried by horse drawn carriage to Oak Woods Cemetery.

The bodies of Donerson and Jason were discovered on Oct. 24 at the family's home. Julian's body was found three days later in a sport utility vehicle on the city's West Side. Although police have taken Julia Hudson's estranged husband William Balfour in custody on a parole violation, None has been charged in the shootings yet.
