Washington (ANI): American actor Johnny Depp is very eager to play the part of the eccentric artist Salvador Dali, provided the script is right. His interest in the role is such that he is even staging open auditions for screenwriters, open to anyone and everyone.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star is all set to play the late surrealist icon in Dali, but wants to do it with a script that he really likes. Depp has, according to the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper in Australia, asked even budding screenwriters to apply for the job. "He's open to working with anyone from housewives to pensioners if the script is right," Contactmusic quoted a source as telling the tabloid.
