London
(ANI):
Hollywood
actress
Angelina
Jolie's
relationship
with
her
father
Jon
Voight
apparently
turned
more
sour
after
the
veteran
actor
announced
his
support
for
presidential
candidate
John
McCain
during
the
election
campaigns.
According
to
her
friends,
the
'Tomb
Raider'
star
was
"embarrassed" that
her
father,
who
attended
the
Republican
national
convention,
was
among
a
few
celebrities
who
were
backing
the
ill-fated
McCain
campaign.
Jolie
and
her
partner
Brad
Pitt
are
keen
Barack
Obama
supporters.
Rumours
were
abuzz
that
Jolie
and
her
father
were
on
better
terms
due
to
the
diplomatic
efforts
of
Pitt.
However,
Jolie's
pals
fear
that
Voight's
political
association
could
damage
the
chances
of
reconciliation
with
his
daughter.
"Angie
was
embarrassed
by
her
father's
association
with
McCain,
not
to
mention
his
comments
about
Sarah
Palin,
who
she
isn't
a
fan
of,"
the
Daily
Express
quoted
a
source
as
saying.
"Angie
remarked
that
considering
the
treatment
he
doled
out
to
her
mother,
she
wasn't
that
surprised
that
he
now
supported
a
woman
who,
in
her
opinion,
was
taking
women's
rights
back
100
years.
"Things
are
fragile
between
Angie
and
Jon
and
it
doesn't
take
much
to
rock
the
boat.
Their
political
differences
haven't
helped
things,"
the
source
added.
