Kidman denies downing white wine at Oscars

Melbourne (ANI): Nicole Kidman's publicist Catherine Olim has hit out at recent reports that the four-months pregnant actress was downing white wine backstage at the 80th Academy Awards. Cindy Adams, the New York Post's columnist, alleged the Australian actress was sipping wine at the ceremony.

"Boozing backstage during the Oscarcast is a no-no. But if you're pregnant Nicole Kidman it's a yes-yes. She wanted white wine. She got it," News.com.au quoted Adams, as stating in her column. But Olim, Kidman's longtime Beverly Hills publicist, fired back, insisting that the reports are not true and the actress was just drinking tea.

She also lashed out at gossip blogger Perez Hilton, who had a link to the Post column on his website. "I try to ignore your column, unlike most of the rest of the world, because it is so nasty," Olim told Hilton in a statement. "But I have to tell you that Nicole Kidman most certainly did not drink white wine or any other alcoholic beverage backstage.

"She had water and lemon zinger tea. That's it. "I know, I was there with her, I cannot remember the last time that Cindy Adams got anything right. "She's an idiot, and you can quote me," she added.
