Ledger's father refuses to accept Golden Globe award

By Staff

Melbourne (ANI): After all the fuss that was made over who will accept late Aussie actor Heath Ledger's Golden Globe award should he win, his father Kim has stated he will not be the one doing it. Kim called Confidential on December 17 to notify that the award will be accepted by one of Ledger's The Dark Knight co-stars if he wins after being nominated posthumously for his role as the Joker, reports the Daily Telegraph.

At first there had been a hue and cry over who will pick up the award, Kim or Ledger's ex Michelle Williams, but now there are only two likely candidates for it, Christian Bale and Morgan Freeman. Ledger's father has also dismissed rumours that he was in a battle with Warner Brothers over who should claim the gong, and said that he will not be able to attend the ceremony due to work commitments in Australia.
