Michelle Williams mourns Heath Ledger

Washington (ANI): Heath Ledger's former partner and the mother of his only child, actress Michelle Williams is said to 'devastated' by the news of the star"s death. The couple met on the sets of their movie Brokeback Mountain in 2005 and were soon welcomed their daughter Matilda into the world. A source close to Williams, who was on location in Sweden when she got the news, said that she was in a state of shock.

"She's devastated," People quoted the source, as saying. Although their relationship ended, the couple agreed to put their 2-year old daughter first. Another source added: "He was absolutely in love with his daughter. And he really liked what he did [acting]. He spoiled [Matilda] rotten. He was playful and very funny with her."

Ledger himself spoke about how fatherhood had changed his life, stating in an earlier interview: "Fatherhood has changed me as an artist because I feel things on a deeper level. I think my performances will grow simultaneously."
