Miguel Corcega dies from stroke in Mexico

Mexican actor and director Miguel Corcega died from a stroke on 28 September 2008 in Mexico City. The beloved telenovela mogul was 78 years old and was suffering from serious illness, which made him to give up the role padre Anselmo in Cuidado con el ángel and the same role went to actor Hector Gomez.

Corcega started acting career in his late 40s and he became popular in South America by playing Padre Anselmo in Cuidado con el angel on TV. He has also directed popular soaps like El privilegio de amar and Lazos de amor. He also had a part in the telenovela Cadenas de amargura.

The actor-cum-director's funeral will be held today (Tuesday) in the Garden of Mexico pantheon in Mexico City.
