Nicole Richie to announce maternity fashion line

Washington (ANI): American socialite Nicole Richie has revealed that she will use her recent pregnancy experience to create a range of maternity clothes. Nicole has tried her hand at being a reality TV star, novelist, and jewelry designer, and has also been rumoured to have a children's line and signature fragrance in works.

She also revealed to WWD that it was the design house's creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere, who inspired the fashion-forward line. "I wore so much Balenciaga during my pregnancy," People quoted her as saying.

Besides wearing the brand"s motorcycle leggings and scarves, she also revealed that she wore her boyfriend Joel Madden's shirts during pregnancy. "When my shirts got too short, I wore Joel's with a jacket on top," she added.

Richie said that having experienced first hand what kind of wardrobe is required for mums-to-be; she most definitely knows what to design for the different stages of pregnancy. "My line will be about making women look and feel good at a really emotional time. It's about showing your best self, not your tired, worn-down self," she said.
