Newman's search for cancer expert

Washington (ANI): Octagenarian actor Paul Newman has been seeing a leading cancer specialist for several months, if reports are to be believed. Sources have revealed that the Oscar-winner actor, who missed his Hole in the Wall charity party last week, visits the New York clinic regularly.

"He's been at the clinic a lot, even working out in the waiting room. Last time he was in there, he had a long beard. Joanne was with him and was very sweet with the assistants," The Mirror quoted a source as saying. Newman's Hole in the Wall charity works for children suffering from cancer and serious blood diseases.

As to why he missed the last week's event, his spokesman said: "He's been having trouble with his back." Newman retired from acting last May, saying that he could no longer act as before. "I am not able to work at the level that I would want to," he said at that time.

During his film career, Newman starred in several hit movies like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting and Cool Hand Luke.
