Washington
(ANI):
American
actor
and
comedian
Robin
Williams
has
thanked
his
estranged
wife
Marsha,
for
not
turning
their
divorce
battle
into
a
messy
and
expensive
affair.
Williams
and
Marsha
had
filed
for
divorce
in
March
08,
citing
irreconcilable
differences,
and
the
two
have
decided
to
keep
it
clean
for
their
kids'
sake.
The
actor
went
public
with
his
thoughts
about
the
upcoming
divorce
battle
and
has
spoken
about
it
on
the
Ellen
DeGeneres'
U.S.
TV
talk
show
on
Tuesday
(06
May
08).
"I'm
lucky...
with
someone
like
Marsha,
and
we
have
amazing
kids
and
it's
not
a
slash
and
burn," Contactmusic
quoted
Williams,
as
telling
DeGeneres.
"I
think
a
lot
of
times
divorce
can
be
like
circumcision
with
a
weed
whacker,"
he
added.
The
two
have
gone
so
far
as
to
outline
their
goals
and
to
ink
an
agreement
to
remain
respectful
of
each
other
in
the
courtroom
during
their
ongoing
divorce
proceedings,
as
per
court
documents
filed
in
San
Francisco
Superior
Court.
"We
will
strive
to
be
honest,
cooperative
and
respectful
as
we
work
in
this
process
to
achieve
the
future
well
being
of
our
families," the
agreement
stated.
"We
commit
ourselves
to
the
collaborative
law
process
and
agree
to
seek
a
positive
way
to
resolve
our
differences
justly
and
equitably,"
it
said.
Marsha
Garces
Williams
was
Williams'
nanny
and
had
married
her
after
he
divorced
his
first
wife.
Their
marriage
has
been
on
for
19
years
and
they
have
two
children
together.
