Will Smith's son Jaden with Keanu Reeves

Melbourne (ANI): Will Smith's son Jayden Smith has landed a role opposite Keanu Reeves in The Day the Earth Stood Still. Jaden will play the rebellious Jacob, the 8-year-old stepson of a scientist Helen Benson, played by Jennifer Connelly, who first makes contact with the humanoid alien Klaatu, played by Reeves, reports Moviehole.

The cast also includes Kathy Bates and Golden Globe winner Jon Hamm. Jaden co-starred in 2006 with his father in The Pursuit of Happyness, for which he won the award for the Best Breakthrough Performance at the 2007 MTV Movie Awards. The little boy was also honoured at the Teen Choice Awards. Last year in December, Will confirmed that his son would revive the Karate Kid franchise.
