Accenture punctures Tiger Woods

Troubled golfer Tiger Woods lost one of his biggest endorsement deals on Sunday with the global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company Accenture ending it's six year deal with him. Woods is accused of cheating on his wife Elin Nordegren with several women. Prime time television ads of Nike, Gilette and AT&T featuring Woods have already gone off the air. Pepsi had earlier announced discontinuing a Tiger Woods-branded energy drink.

In it's official statement "Given the circumstances of the last two weeks , the company has determined that he (Tiger Woods) is no longer the right representative for its advertising," It also added "For the past six years, Accenture and Tiger Woods have had a very successful sponsorship arrangement and his achievements on the golf course have been a powerful metaphor for business success in Accenture's advertising,"

On Friday last, Woods had announced that he was taking an indefinite break from professional golf to repair the damage caused by his marital infidelity. On his official website Woods had posted "I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness."
