Arnie's sci-fi thriller Total Recall to be remade

London (ANI): Arnold Schwarzenegger-starrer thriller Total Recall is being remade, it has emerged. According to trade newspaper The Hollywood Reporter, Kurt Wimmer, who penned the 1999 version of The Thomas Crown Affair, is currently busy working on a script.

The film's rights were secured in February by film studio Columbia Pictures, which claimed that the remake will be a 'contemporised adaptation', reports The BBC.As of now, no official announcement has been made on who will play the lead role.

The original film was based on the Philip K Dick story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. The movie details the life of a man who is haunted by a recurring dream of travelling to Mars - where he has never been - and a woman he has never met.

Sharon Stone and Rachel Ticotin also starred in the movie.
