Hilton's British Best Friend faces criticism

London (ANI): Gosford Park star Charles Dance has branded Paris Hilton"s new show British Best Friend as "a show for airheads, starring an airhead". The 62-year-old actor is livid after the socialite"s reality show replaced his university drama Trinity on ITV2.

The series scheduled to kick off early this year, will now only start in September. “We're putting too much energy into junk and reality television. This show was going to be shown in January or February," the Sun quoted him as saying. He exclaimed: "But they shelved it until September to put you know what in its place? Paris Hilton's British Best Friend, which is possibly the most execrable piece of television I've ever seen in my life.

"God knows what the ratings were. It's a piece of television for airheads, starring an airhead. " Dance had no reservation expressing his disgust. He said: "It's just beyond me. Endless hours of reality television - surely by now there must be a consensus that it''s c**p?" Charles became popular after starring in 1980s TV drama The Jewel In The Crown.
