Slumdog Millionaire bags 4 Golden Globes awards

Washington (ANI): After winning the Critics Award, music director AR Rahman has walked away with yet another gong for Best Score in Slumdog Millionaire at the Golden Globes awards. The movie, which follows the story of the young boy from rags to riches, has walked away with four gongs at the award ceremony, reports Variety.

Danny Boyle won Best Director award, while writer Simon Beaufoy also won an award for the film. Slumdog Millionaire was also named the best film. Actor Health Ledger was awarded the posthumous Golden Globe for his role as Joker in the The Dark Knight. He won the Best Supporting Actor at the awards.

Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan accepted the gong on behalf of the late actor. "All of us who worked with Heath on The Dark Knight accept with an awful mixture of sadness but incredible pride," said Nolan.

Actress Kate Winslet and actor Mickey Rouke walked away with the top awards at the award ceremony. Winslet won the Best Actress for The Reader and Rouke was awarded Best actor for The Wrestler. She also won the Best supporting actress award for The Reader.
