Osbourne, Madeley quit SCD over fee cuts

London (ANI): Talent show Strictly Come Dancing is in turmoil as English TV presenters Sharon Osbourne and Richard Madeley have quit after a cut in their salaries, it has emerged. The show is threatened by a possible revolt from the professional dancers in the show as well, since some of them are not agreeing to sign contracts because of a cut in their 35,000 pounds series fees.

The alleged exit of the two celebrities took place following BBC1 boss Jay Hunt's decision of a 30percent reduction in costs this year. The 43-year-old Australian born boss has sparked an ageism outcry and is infamous for ousting Arlene Phillips, 66, and replacing her with former winner Alesha Dixon.

"Jay has no idea how to finesse a situation, especially with talent, and there's a lot of disquiet," the Mirror quoted a senior boss as saying.

A friend of Sharon revealed that the 57-year-old had reservations about appearing in the show after Arlene was fired apart from the cut in her package. "Sharon is a serious player in America's Got Talent but what the BBC finally offered was ridiculous. And what happened to Arlene was a disgrace," said a pal.
