Washington
(ANI):
Director
Roman
Polanski
was
willing
to
pay
500,000
dollars
to
his
unlawful
sex
victim
16
years
ago,
newly-released
court
documents
have
revealed.
According
to
the
Los
Angeles
Times,
the
internationally
renowned
director
had
agreed
to
pay
Samantha
Geimer
in
a
civil
settlement
after
she
had
filed
a
lawsuit
against
him
in
1988,
accusing
him
of
sexual
assault
and
various
other
related
charges.
Settlement
documents
show
that
Polanski
agreed
to
pay
Geimer
500,000
dollars
with
interest
in
October
1993
within
two
years,
reports
Contactmusic.
Documents
also
show
that
Geimer
had
to
approach
the
court
again
after
Polanski
failed
to
pay
by
1995.
However,
it
is
not
known
if
the
director
paid
the
full
sum.
Polanski
had
fled
to
France
from
the
US,
in
1978
to
avoid
imprisonment
after
pleading
guilty
to
the
charge
of
having
unlawful
sex
with
13-year-old
Geimer
(then
Gailey)
and
is
currently
under
arrest
in
Zurich,
Switzerland.
