London
(ANI):
Naomi
Campbell"s
former
agent
has
claimed
that
the
model
and
Charles
Taylor
were
'mildly
flirting'
on
the
evening
before
the
Liberian
leader
was
alleged
to
have
given
the
supermodel
'blood
diamonds'.
Carole
White
said
Taylor,
promised
during
the
dinner
at
Nelson
Mandela's
residence
in
1997
that
he
would
present
the
gift
to
Naomi
Campbell,
who
she
said
was
sitting
next
to
him.
Appearing
at
the
war
crimes
trial
of
Taylor,
who
is
accused
of
supporting
brutal
rebels
in
neighbouring
Sierra
Leone's
civil
war
between
1996
and
2002,
White
said:
"Naomi
was
very
excited
and
told
me
''He's
going
to
give
me
some
diamonds''.
She
leaned
back
in
her
chair
to
talk
to
me," reports
the
Telegraph.
She
said
Taylor
was
leaning
forward,
"smiling
and
nodding
in
agreement".
"They
were
being
charming
to
each
other,
mildly
flirting.
They
were
just
being
affable.
Naomi,
I
think,
was
flirting
with
him
and
he
was
flirting
back,"
said
White.
She
said
they
were
"enjoying
each
other's
company",
adding:
"I
just
heard
them
laughing
and
talking
but
I
can't
recall
the
conversation."
