Butch Cassidy to return without Sundance Kid‎

London (ANI): Butch Cassidy is set to hit the screens again in a sequel, entitled Blackthorn, but without his partner The Sundance Kid. American actor Sam Shepard will star as Robert LeRoy Parker, who led the Hole in the Wall Gang on which the 1969 Butch Cassidy film was loosely based.

Spanish director Mateo Gil will helm the project, the filming for which will kick start in Bolivia next month, The Telegraph reported. The sequel apparently tells the story of Cassidy in his twilight years trying to commit one last robbery. Paul Newman portrayed Butch Cassidy in the 1969 original that went on to bag four Oscars.
