Russell Crowe to play troubleshooter in his next

Hollywood actor Russell Crowe is going to enact the role of Robert McCall in a movie adaptation of the American television series 'The Equalizer". The film is scheduled to release in 2011. British actor Edward Woodward became a great star after playing the role of Robert McCall in the TV series. Now, the Robin Hood actor Russell is ready to fit in the shoes of Edward.

David Von Ancken is directing the remake of the 'The Equalizer", which was a crime series of the 1980s. McCall is a secret agent of an anonymous organization that supports people to get through the crimes, by becoming their 'troubleshooter".

The entire storyline of the film adaptation is not ready yet. However, the film joins the bandwagon of the 1980s classic, which are being remade in Hollywood. Other films on the same line are The A-Team and The Karate Kid, both of which are doing good business at the Box office.

Russell Crowe started his acting career with the Australian TV series 'Police Rescue". Then he appeared in Australian films and started acting in American films in the late 90s. His first co-star in an American film was Denzel Washington in Virtuosity. In 1995, he acted opposite Sharon Stone in The Quick and the Dead. Russell was nominated for Oscar three times, and won the 'Best Actor" for Gladiator in 2001.
