demi moore settles court case with New Idea

By Raymond Ronamai

Melbourne, (ANI): Actress demi moore"s court case against New Idea has been settled in the Federal Court today in Melbourne.

Moore, who was suing New Idea for publishing unauthorised photographs of her at an alternative Oscars party in 2008, was scheduled to give evidence before the court tomorrow. However, her travel plans have been put on hold after Justice John Middleton told the court that the matter had settled in principle.

Justice Middleton said the parties had not finalised terms of settlement yet but it is expected that will occur today.

"From the media interest, there appears to be a large number of disappointed fans, but there's a public interest in the efficient resolution of disputes so I congratulate the parties," the Herald Sun quoted him as saying.

Moore says she owned the copyright on the photos, giving New Idea no right to publish them.
