Denise Van Outen hits out at breastfeeding bullies

London, (ANI): Actress Denise Van Outen has slammed National Health Service (NHS) bosses following their letter criticizing the star"s decision to stop breastfeeding her baby daughter. Denise, 36, took exception to health chiefs in Kent after receiving a “very detailed personal letter" telling her to carry on breastfeeding four-month-old Betsy and criticizing her actor husband, Lee Mead.

The couple even received a 'pro-breastfeeding' coffee mug in the post. “I"m sick to the teeth of the breastfeeding bullies, back off!" the Daily Express quoted her as saying. “The NHS sent me a letter basically saying my husband should have supported me more. They sent me a mug suggesting Lee should have brought me tea in bed. So rude!"

The actress also recently hit back after the model Gisele Bundchen suggested there should be a law preventing mothers from using formula milk before a child reaches 6 months.

“Betsy is a very healthy baby. Sleeping through too! Mum and daughter are just doing fine. Thank you NHS for your concern. My hubby is reading a book to our very happy baby at the moment. I would rather he did that than make me a cup of tea," she added.

“We"re sorry if we upset Denise and Lee – they are obviously great parents and we wish them all the best for the future. We"ve had an amazing response to our Keep Calm campaign. It"s a bit like Marmite – you either love it or hate it, said a spokeswoman for NHS.

“Our campaign is to encourage women to breastfeed whenever possible," the spokeswoman added.
