Kal Penn robbed at gunpoint in Washington D.C.

New York (ANI): 'The Namesake" actor Kal Penn a.k.a. Kalpen Modi was held at gunpoint in Washington D.C. According to TMZ.com, the 32-year-old actor was held up at gunpoint early Tuesday morning in the nation's capital.

An unknown man holding a gun approached Penn at around 1:20 a.m. and robbed him off his wallet and other belongings. The day on which Penn was robbed was ironically the National Weed Day for marijuana activists, reports the New York Daily News.

Authorities are looking into the incident.According to Entertainment Weekly, Penn is to commence shooting for the third episode of the movie 'Harold and Kumar" in June.
