Award
for
a
lifetime
of
work
in
cinema
at
the
Golden
Globes.
The
67-year-old
received
a
standing
ovation
at
the
International
Ballroom
of
the
Beverly
Hilton
Hotel.
Longtime
friend
and
collaborator
Robert
De
Niro
presented
the
Departed
director
with
the
accolade
while
hailing
the
Oscar-winner"s
passion
for
filmmaking.
“Marty
sleeps,
drinks
and
eats
film...
I
hear
there
are
videos
on
the
internet
of
Marty
having
sex
with
film," the
Mirror
quoted
De
Niro
as
saying.
He
added:
"We're
like
an
old
married
couple.
We
built
a
life
together,
we
have
great
memories
--
we
just
don't
sleep
together
anymore."
Leonardo
DiCaprio
later
joined
De
Niro
in
the
introduction,
dubbing
Scorsese
"a
master
filmmaker
and
a
generous,
patient
teacher."
