Pattinson was scared of proposing Stewart

Melbourne, (ANI): Robert Pattinson has opened up about how afraid he was of filming the proposal scene in the third Twilight Saga film, Eclipse.

The actor admitted that he was 'dreading" the wedding proposal he had to make to his girlfriend Kristen Stewart in a scene in the soon to be released film.

"I was dreading the day it was coming," he says of the scene that was held until the very end of the shoot," the Daily Telegraph quoted him as telling told USA Today.

"The first time I read the script, I thought, ''This is impossible,''" he added.

The 24-year-old actor, who plays vampire Edward Cullen, was particularly uncomfortable when his character attempts to woo Bella Swan, played by 20-year-old Stewart.

"It's so earnest. I finally convinced the producers that you can play it with a bit of awareness of not being a fictional character. I''m not trying to be part of a Gothic novel."

However, the young actor admitted that he was pleasantly surprised when he saw the final cut.

"It seems different when you see it," he said.
