Sean Penn praised for Haiti relief work

London, July 12 (ANI): Officials have praised Sean Penn's relief work in Haiti, branding it as "an amazing achievement".

The actor co-founded the Jenkins-Penn Haiti Relief Organization after the devastating disaster, and has flown out to the country numerous times since to help implement a relief camp in Petionville and facilities in the community, near to the capital, Port-au-Prince.

And several health workers aiding Penn's clean-up efforts have highlighted his work.

"Here, people are relaxed. And J/P HRO's volunteers are doing amazing things. Nine premature babies have been born in the camp in the past few weeks, and seven survived. That's an amazing achievement," the Daily Mail quoted Mark Sweeting, from USAID, as telling Independent.

German doctor Florian Blaser said: "The difference between this camp and all the others? Where do I start? There are no gangs roaming the streets. There are plenty of hospitals, so people have proper access to doctors.

"Children have at least four schools to choose from. You go to other places, and the earthquake victims are just existing. Here, they are thriving. There's a real sense of community," added Blaser. (ANI)
