Tom Cruise returning in Mission Impossible 4

Washington (ANI): Tom Cruise is set to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt in the action packed Mission: Impossible movie franchise. Cruise, 47, last appeared in Mission: Impossible III after which he was fired by Paramount studio head Sumner Redstone, reports Radar Online.

Redstone had publicly blasted Cruise for his actions - his highly publicized jumping on the couch on Oprah Winfrey's show as he declared his love for Katie Holmes and his Scientology rants. Cruise later became dad to daughter Suri and tied the knot with her mum Katie in Italy.

The Mission: Impossible franchise has grossed 1.4 billion dollars world wide, and Mission Impossible IV is slated to be lensed this summer and will hit theatres Memorial Day weekend 2011.
