Ugly Betty going off air with its fourth season

In a surprising development, US network ABC has decided to end the popular comedy show Ugly Betty with its fourth season. According to sources, the last episode of the show, which stars America Ferrera, will be aired in April in the US. It is also said that ABC has planned to cut down the number of episodes from 22 to 20.

Sources claim that the show Ugly Betty, which drew up 5.5million viewers on Channel 4, had been struggling in recent days with audience erosion. Now, ABC does not want to disappoint the show fans. The network is planning to end the show with a proper conclusion to it.

Ugly Betty's executive producer Silvio Horta and ABC president Steve McPherson said, "We"ve mutually come to the difficult decision to make this Ugly Betty's final season, and are announcing now as we want to allow the show ample time to write a satisfying conclusion."

However, 'Ugly Betty' is an American comedy-drama television series created by Silvio Horta. The show was premiered on ABC on September 28, 2006. The series revolves around Betty Suarez and is written by Fernando Gaitán. It was filmed in Los Angeles, California and New York. The show has got Emmy, Golden Globe and Peabody awards.
