“Building the creatures alone took eight months. But basically we decided what we wanted it to feel like and worked backwards on how to get there—and just stuck to that, for better or worse. Like 'OK, we"re going to do this in costumes," and with all the limitations of a costume, we"re going to embrace that and make the most out of that. If a Wild Thing needs to knock down a tree, we"re going to knock down a tree in a forest, not like a CGI tree on a stage.
