Andrew Garfield in Spider-Man costume at Comic-Con

Actor Andrew Garfield came along with actress Emma Stone to the movie booth of The Amazing Spider-Man at the San Diego Comic Con on Friday, July 22. He slipped into the superhero costume completely with the mask on. Talking to the media, the Spider-Man depicter declared that Spider-Man saved his life.

Andrew Garfield said, "I needed Spider-Man in my life as a kid and he gave me hope. He was living mine and every skinny boy's fantasy." Meanwhile, the actor admitted that Spider-Man alter ego Peter Parker inspired him, made him braver and showed him how the bruises sustained in a struggle are worth it. He added, "He saved my life."

Andrew Garfield was joined by Rhys Ifans, who plays Dr. Curt Conners/The Lizard. Director Marc Webb said that he intended to make it more realistic in terms of the characters and the setting. However, the audience were presented with clips from the movie The Amazing Spider-Man on the occasion.
