Ben Kingsley to act with Sri Lankan filmmaker

By Ramchander

Oscar Award winner Ben Kingsley has reportedly signed to act in a movie, which will be directed by Chandran Rutnam. The movie, which is inspired by the terror attacks on Colombo, has been titled A Common Man.

The actor was recently in the island nation to shoot his portions, says a source. But it has refused to reveal the details about his character and other information about A Common Man. The movie will be the first ever film directed by a Sri Lankan.

Taking about the film, Chandran Rutnam has said, “The story is adapted from a concept that has been done before. But I have taken that concept and turned it around into a situation in Sri Lanka. This is a rare opportunity for Sri Lanka because this is the first time we are directing Hollywood actors. We shot the whole movie within 27 days,"
