Colin Firth, Scarlett Johansson to star in Danny's Trance

Actor Colin Firth and actress Scarlett Johansson are reportedly likely to play the lead roles in the forthcoming movie Trance, which is to be directed by Danny Boyle. According to sources, the Lost in Translation star is considered for the role of Elizabeth, while Oscar-winning actor could play major supporting role of Aiden.

The grapevine is abuzz that Scarlett Johansson is the current favorite star in Danny Boyle's candidate list, which also includes Zoe Saldana and Melanie Thierry. Meanwhile, the director wants Colin Firth to replace Michael Fassbender in the project Trance, but he is yet to make an official offer to the actor.

However, Trance is a remake of a 2003 British TV movie, which was directed by Joe Ahearne. The story is about an assistant at an auction house, who masterminds a heist and joins a group of thieves to steal a valuable painting. The production is scheduled to begin this fall before the Summer Olympics starts in 2012.
