Ellen DeGeneres happy not playing 'American Idol' judge

London, Feb 7 (ANI): Ellen DeGeneres has revealed that she is glad to have stepped down from her role as a judge of 'American Idol'.

The 53-year-old comedienne and chat show host said that she could not handle being negative about audition hopefuls.

"It's so hard to tell people they aren't good," the Sun quoted DeGeneres as saying.

"Every time I tried to think of some funny way to say it. I don't have any of that pressure any more," she said.

Ellen quit saying it "didn't feel like the right fit".

Jennifer Lopez has replaced her in the new-look 'American Idol'. (ANI)
