Jake Gyllenhaal to do own film to expand his career

Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is now worried about his acting career in Hollywood because he constantly thinks about his longevity as an actor. The Brokeback Mountain star fears that his onscreen appeal will eventually wane. Now, he is planning to direct films in a desperate bid to expand his Hollywood career.

Jake Gyllenhaal thinks that the only way to expand his career is to make his own movies. Talking to the Daily Star, the actor said, “Well, I do have a number of things that I'm developing. That's probably where the future lies for me - but I'm not going to give up the day job just yet. I'd like to see where it goes."

The Day After Tomorrow star added, “You're always wondering how long this will last. It's a piece of being an actor. There's always someone more talented or younger than you. But I also like to write. In years to come, I think that will expand. I won't just be scrapping for the next job. Maybe I'll create something for myself."

However, Jake Gyllenhaal has received lots of accolades for his acting in Love and Other Drugs, which was released on November 24, 2010 and has topped the chart of Hollywood Box Office for two weeks. Currently, he is busy with the post-production works of Source Code and Nailed, which are likely to release in April.
