Rob Marshall to direct Johnny Depp again in The Thin Man

Director Rob Marshall, who has worked with Johnny Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, is joining the actor again. The Hollywood filmmaker will direct Depp in his remake of 1934 film The Thin Man, which features Depp as Nick Charles. Rob is 'overjoyed' to work with him again.

In an official statement, Rob Marshall says, "John and I are overjoyed at the idea of working with Johnny again, especially on such a classy and classic project. We are also thrilled to be partnering this time with such wonderful producers as Christi Dembroski and Kevin McCormick, and we are looking forward to working with Warner Bros. to create a reinvention of a beloved story."

However, The Thin Man reboot will be produced by Rob Marshall, John DeLuca, Johnny Depp, Christi Dembrowski and Kevin McCormick. The film follows Charles, a former detective who, along with his wife Nora, parties too much but ends up investigating a case. Jerry Stahl will write the script for the comedy crime movie.
