Matthew McConaughey, Hilary Swank star in Dallas Buyer's Club

Actor Matthew McConaughey and actress Hilary Swank have joined the cast of Canadian director Jean-Marc Vallee's latest movie The Dallas Buyer"s Club, which is a real-life drama. McConaughey will play AIDS-affected electrician from Texas, while the two Oscar winner actress reprise the role of heroine in the film.

The Dallas Buyer"s Club revolves around Ron Woodroof, a tough Texas electrician, who is diagnosed with AIDS and is given six months to live. In a desperate bid to live long, he resorts to smuggling alternative drugs into the US to help himself and other AIDS patients. His efforts put him on a collision course with the US Food and Drug Administration.

The story of The Dallas Buyer"s Club is said to be a real story of Ron Woodroof and it includes incidents happened between 1986 and 1992. Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack have adapted Woodroof"s story for the screen. It is produced by Robbie Brenner, Rachel Rothman-Winter and Nathan Ross. Content Film is selling The Dallas Buyer"s Club to international buyers in Cannes.
