Natalie Portman bags Oscar award for Black Swan

Hollywood actress Natalie Portman has received rave reviews for her performance in the movie Black Swan from the critics across the globe. She has also got several international honours including BAFTA and Golden Globe Awards. The latest recognition that is coming in her way is the Oscar Award and it is the biggest honour of all the awards for her.

Natalie Portman has walked away with the Best Actress award at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards 2011, held at the Kodak theatre, Los Angeles. As she appeared on the Red Carpet on Sunday night, the Black Swan star looked stunning in her Rodarte violet-coloured draped gown in silk chiffon with Swarovski crystals. And the Tiffany & Co. tassel earrings were a perfect complement.

Black Swan is an American psychological thriller film that revolves around a production of Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake ballet by a prestigious New York City company. Natalie Portman has essayed the role of Nina Sayers/The Swan Queen and she is a perfect fit for the White Swan. He performance has received lots of accolades.

However, Natalie Portman's role in Black Swan has fetched her Best Actress awards at BAFTAs, Broadcast Film Critics Association Awards, Golden Globe Awards, Independent Spirit Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards. He role has also got her nomination at Alliance of Women Film Journalists, London Film Critics' Circle, Saturn Awards, Toronto Film Critics Association and Vancouver Film Critics Circle.
