Nick Cassavetes pulls out of Gotti: Three Generations

Director Nick Cassavetes, who was earlier roped in to direct the forthcoming movie Gotti: Three Generations, has now walked out of the project. The director was already committed to indie drama 'Yellow'. He was forced to pull out of the project after he faced a scheduling conflict between Yellow and Gotti.

According to sources, the producers of Gotti: Three Generations have released Nick Cassavetes from his contract on Monday, April 18. Now, they are reportedly opening a vacancy for a new director to take up John Gotti biopic, which will be shot entirely in New York and will release in October 2012.

Gotti: Three Generations is a dramedy movie, which reveals the relationship of a father, who lived and died by the mob code and a son who chose to leave the crime world behind and redeem himself and the Gotti name, while brought up to lead a life of crime. John Travolta plays the late mafia John Gotti. His daughter Ella Bleu Travolta has a featured role. Joe Pesci is signed as Angelo Ruggiero and Lindsay Lohan is still in talks for role of Victoria Gotti.
