Actor Nicolas Cage is set to play two roles in the upcoming superhero movie Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, which is directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. The Hollywood star has admitted that he is reprising the roles of both the human and the supernatural side of Marvel comics superhero Johnny Blaze in Ghost Rider 2.
Nicolas Cage has decided to replace the CGI version of the supernatural character seen in the original. In an interview with Superhero Hype, the actor said, "One of the things this movie gave me the chance to do, which I didn't get to do in the first one, is play Ghost Rider, which is interesting to me because it's all about how do you move if you're from a different dimension?"
Meanwhile, the actor also admitted that he will base the paranormal character on a cobra. Nicolas Cage said, "[Directors] Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine and I all got in a room and explored different movements and body language, referenced some animals - and cobra kept coming back to me."
However, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is about Johnny Blaze, who is hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. He is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son's body on the kid's birthday. Action thriller film Ghost Rider 2 is set to release on February 17, 2012.
