Actor
Orlando
Bloom
has
officially
joined
the
cast
ensemble
of
upcoming
movie
The
Hobbit.
Director
Peter
Jackson
has
confirmed
that
the
Lord
of
the
Rings
actor
will
reprise
his
role
as
Legolas
in
his
adventure
flick.
He
will
join
Cate
Blanchett,
Elijah
Wood
and
Ian
McKellen
for
the
shooting
of
the
film
in
New
Zealand.
Peter
Jackson
took
to
his
Facebook
account
to
announce
the
cast
of
Orlando
Bloom
for
the
adventure
movie
The
Hobbit.
He
wrote,
"Ten
years
ago,
Orlando
Bloom
created
an
iconic
character
with
his
portrayal
of
Legolas.
I'm
excited
to
announce
today
that
we'll
be
revisiting
Middle
Earth
with
him
once
more.
I'm
thrilled
to
be
working
with
Orlando
again.
Funny
thing
is,
I
look
older-and
he
doesn't!
I
guess
that's
why
he
makes
such
a
wonderful
elf."
However,
The
Hobbit
centers
its
story
on
Bilbo
Baggins,
who
joins
a
company
of
thirteen
dwarfs
led
by
the
legendary
warrior,
Thorin
Oakensheild
for
the
latest
adventure.
The
movie
is
based
on
a
novel
by
JRR
Tolkien
and
it
is
split
into
two
parts,
which
are
shot
back-to-back.
The
first
installment
will
grace
the
theaters
in
2012,
while
the
second
part
releases
in
2013.
